Design Challenges and Innovative Solutions
Reflecting the Los Angeles Head office feel was very important to the LLCP’s owners. K2 would work closely with the LA team to set parameters that would reflect the look, feel and quality – adhering to the concepts whilst sourcing materials and products locally where possible, to meet tight schedules, to adhere to local building regulations and standards and to reduce the potential environmental impact of shipping and air freight.
Reflecting the LA Head Office Feel
At the outset K2 Managing Director Mark Phillips and Design Director Chris Alldred flew out to Los Angeles to meet with the LLCP owners and design team – we also worked closely with Cushman Wakefield the project PM throughout the project.
K2 would rely on their unrivalled experience supplying and installing high end furniture and case goods and can coordinate the deliveries of multiple suppliers in our logistics and warehousing centre just outside London.
Attention to Detail for a Timeless Office
We know that it is the small details that make projects successful. Veneers for the workstations and for the office doors were sourced from the same tree to ensure a perfect match. Throughout the design process proposed samples for wall cladding, fabrics and timber were FedExed to LA for approval. Broadloom carpet was flown in from the US to exactly match the LA office which was important to the owners. The complex logistics had to be managed carefully to ensure on time delivery.
The result was an elegant, timeless office and a very happy client!
