Designing for a Global Investment Firm
Platinum Equity approached K2 Space to design and fit out the expansion of their London office in Hanover Square. As a long-standing client, the brief built on an established relationship and a shared understanding of the firm’s standards.
The aim was to create a refined, understated workspace that reflected the calibre of a leading private equity business. It needed to feel calm and considered, to balance quiet focus with space to host, and to make the most of the natural light and Mayfair outlook.
Crittall Glazing and Natural Materials
K2 Space worked closely with Platinum Equity to deliver a design rooted in high-quality, natural materials. Black steel-framed Crittall-style glazing runs throughout the floor, defining private offices and meeting rooms while keeping the space open and allowing daylight to reach the core.
Warm walnut timber desking and joinery is set against a neutral palette of soft greys and off-whites, with timber and carpet flooring used to distinguish circulation from work areas. The result is a crisp, contemporary aesthetic with a sense of quality and permanence that feels modern but warm rather than corporate.
Private Offices, Open Plan and Meeting Spaces
The floor was planned around a clear mix of work settings. A run of private offices lines the glazed perimeter, each with a walnut workstation, executive seating and a soft armchair for informal conversations, framed by views over the square. A larger corner office and a principal’s office anchor the space.
At the centre, an open-plan area provides bench desking with monitor arms and ergonomic task seating for the wider team, while a ten-person meeting room and smaller breakout and meeting spaces give the firm room to gather, present and host clients.
A welcoming reception sets the tone on arrival.
A Considered, High-End Specification
Furniture was specified to match the quality of the architecture. The furniture scheme brings together executive and meeting furniture, ergonomic task seating and softer breakout pieces, including tan leather lounge and desk chairs, sculptural soft seating and bespoke desking and joinery.
It draws on manufacturers such as Knoll, Boss Design, Muuto, Senator, Humanscale and Bisley, alongside bespoke elements. Each space was furnished to its purpose, from the focused private offices to the relaxed lounge settings, giving the floor a consistent, design-led feel throughout.

The completed expansion is a refined and highly functional space that reflects Platinum Equity’s standing and continues a partnership built over multiple projects. Through careful design, quality materials and a considered furniture specification, K2 Space delivered a workspace that is both welcoming and impressive, and well placed to support the firm as it grows.
