K2 Space is delighted to be supporting the Wrap Up London campaign for a fourth successive year.
This year’s campaign, which runs from 3 – 7 November aims to persuade London’s commuters to donate their unwanted coats to people in need around the capital.
K2 Space provides logistics and transport support for the event, including the vehicles to collect bags of coats from the collection stations and drive them to the warehouses for sorting.
All K2 Space staff will be involved in the event with some handing out leaflets at stations prior to the collection days, some collecting coats at the stations and others manning the vehicles.
Coats were collected from ten tube stations in 2013 with many instances of people literally donating the coat off their backs. Coats were then distributed to over a hundred charitable organisations across greater London. These included homeless shelters, women’s refuges, youth centres, care homes, centres for the elderly and food banks. The target for 2014 is to collect 20,000 coats.
K2 Space first got involved with the campaign at the invitation of their long-standing furniture and design and build client, investment firm, William Blair who are the one of the organisers of the event.
K2 Space managing director Mark Phillips commented: “As an Islington based company, many of our clients are based here in the capital. We’re proud and excited to be part of Wrap Up London again and to collect a record number of coats would be a great achievement for everyone involved.”
